Writing has always come naturally to me, and I love working with others to create the content they’re looking for. Since my eighth-grade English teacher told me I had a knack for writing, I’ve been hooked; I excitedly told people about my goal to become a writer while they dabbled with marine biology and archaeology. When I studied for the SAT, I became fixated on proper grammar and learning new words (favorite SAT word: ineffable). My high school and college careers were spent trying to figure out how I could integrate these obsessions into my lifestyle.
After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing at Binghamton University, I went on to integrate the creative skills I learned into my career. I took classes through Mediabistro and received a Copyediting certification (I could probably give a presentation on why I prefer the serial comma), and I use my obsession with proper grammar to improve my writing further. I then went on to study Digital Marketing to learn more about this crazy Internet thing and how my writing can flourish within it.
I create meticulously edited copy for a variety of industries, specializing mostly in the business, entertainment/media, legal, outdoor, and tech fields. And, of course, I make time to regularly flex my creative muscles and write short fiction and creative nonfiction pieces as well. My copy is engaging, and my editing helps a writer’s voice shine through in exactly the way they’ve intended. I’ve perfected the art of taming the ideas bouncing around my head and turning them into compelling copy to better enrich the digital world.
